On March 9, a team of experts led by Sun Yongming, Deputy Director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Guangzhou Energy Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as "Guangzhou Energy Institute"), visited Welley Environmental Protection Technology Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Welley Group"). The two sides carried out in-depth exchanges around technological innovation and industrial cooperation in the field of biomass green fuel, and worked together on the path of high-value utilization of organic waste and transformation and development of clean energy.
At the symposium, Li Yao, Chairman of Weili Group, gave a detailed introduction to the company's strategic layout and project practices in the field of bioenergy to experts from Guangzhou Energy Institute. In recent years, Weili Group has been accelerating the transformation of its green energy supply strategy, relying on its accumulated 2 million cubic meters/day of biogas resources in the fields of garbage leachate, agricultural livestock and poultry waste, and industrial organic wastewater treatment. Through its independently mastered core technology of biogas purification, it has successfully achieved large-scale production and grid connected sales of bio natural gas. At present, the group has implemented multiple benchmark projects in Zhejiang, Shanghai, Anhui and other places, with a daily production capacity of over 200000 cubic meters of bio natural gas, and is steadily advancing towards the goal of reaching 1 million cubic meters per day within two years.

Sun Yongming, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Energy Institute, highly praised the achievements of Weili in the industrialization of bioenergy and introduced the cutting-edge technology layout of the institute in the field of biomass energy. As a supporting unit of the National Energy Biofuel Research and Development Center, Guangzhou Energy Institute has long been engaged in the research of biomass thermochemical conversion, biochemical conversion, and bio liquid fuel. It is implementing the national key research and development project "Key Technology and Equipment Research and Development for New and Efficient Energy and Fertilizer Utilization of Diversified Agricultural Waste", and has deep technical accumulation in the fields of bio natural gas, biomass gasification hydrogen production, synthesis gas purification and transformation, and preparation of bio aviation fuel (SAF) from lignocellulose.
Conference Venue

Both parties have reached a consensus on the following cooperation priorities:
1、 Upgrading the quality of bio natural gas: Combining the engineering capabilities of Weili Group in the field of biogas purification with the efficient anaerobic fermentation of biomass and high-value conversion technology of biogas from Guangzhou Energy Institute, we will jointly explore the extension path of bio natural gas to high-end fuels such as green LNG and green methanol, and enhance the added value of bioenergy.
2、 We have reached a cooperation intention on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other bioenergy technology routes and industrialization paths such as biomass hydrogen production.
Li Yao, Chairman of Weili Group, said, "Guangzhou Energy Institute is a top research institution in the field of bioenergy in China, with a complete innovation chain from basic research to application development. This exchange has injected strong technological momentum into Weili. We look forward to transforming more cutting-edge technologies into industrial practices through deep cooperation between industry, academia, and research, and promoting the value of biofuels
Vice Director Sun Yongming of Guangzhou Energy Institute said, "Villi Group has rich construction and operation experience, industrialization capabilities, and customer resources in organic waste treatment and bio natural gas engineering. It is an ideal partner for the transformation and landing of advanced scientific research achievements. The cooperation between the two parties will accelerate the industrialization process of biomass green fuel technology and provide a replicable business model and technological path for achieving China's' dual carbon 'goals
Dr. Li Zhongyue, founder of Weili Group, said, "Weili Group is committed to building a biomass resource utilization technology system based on carbon and nitrogen cycles. Through the synergistic coupling of multiple technology chains of" energy, feed, and fertilizer ", organic waste is converted into high-value bioenergy, insect protein, and organic fertilizer products, achieving the maximum recovery and cascade utilization of carbon and nitrogen resources in biomass waste. Weili Group and Guangzhou Energy have a good cooperation foundation, and in the future, they can further strengthen cooperation in joint technology research and industrialization of achievements
This meeting marks a new stage in the cooperation between Weili Group and national research institutions. Both parties agree to establish a normalized docking mechanism, sign strategic agreements on specific cooperation projects as soon as possible, jointly build an innovation consortium, work together to promote the high-quality development of the green fuel industry, and assist in the implementation of the national energy structure transformation and rural revitalization strategy.

Guangzhou Energy Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in 1978, formerly the Geothermal Energy Research Office of Guangdong Province, which was established in 1973. In April 1998, the original Chinese Academy of Sciences Guangzhou Satellite Observatory was incorporated into the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2001, it became one of the pilot units of the knowledge innovation project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2017, it participated in the preparation for the establishment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Clean Energy Innovation Institute and the South China Sea Ecological Environment Engineering Innovation Institute. In 2021, it applied for the establishment of a national key laboratory.
Guangzhou Energy Institute has always been guided by national strategic needs, taking renewable energy and new energy as its main responsibilities and businesses. It has achieved a series of significant results in the fields of renewable energy system integration, new energy development and comprehensive utilization, energy strategy and low-carbon development. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, we will focus on three main directions: high-value utilization of biomass, "+" of renewable energy, and development and utilization of natural gas hydrates. We will lay out emerging cutting-edge directions such as digital energy theory methods and applications, recycling of new and renewable energy devices, and carbon dioxide capture and extraction of hydrates technology for the future. A discipline layout focusing on biomass energy, ocean energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, solid waste energy, natural gas hydrates, energy conservation and environmental protection, and integrated distributed comprehensive energy systems has been formed. It is currently the earliest, most comprehensive, and first-class national research institution in the field of renewable energy and new energy in China. After years of continuous innovation and research and development, most of the technologies are in an international parallel and domestic leading position, and some technologies have reached an international leading position. It has become an influential research and development institution in the field of renewable energy and new energy internationally.
